Tree Cutting Notification

                                                                                                                      September 14, 2016

Dear Owners,
Unfortunately, I feel it necessary to write this special notification. This summer there have been several instances where owners have cut trees without permission from the AIA forester and/or from the design review committee, that have resulted in violations of our covenants and regulations. Cutting live trees on your property that exceed 2” in diameter without permission at the base is a violation. Cutting of any live tree on association common ground is a violation. The cutting of dead and down on your property or common ground is permitted without permission or approval from our forester or design review.

The forest and it’s trees are one of the special attributes of Arrowhead that all appreciate and enjoy. Unpermitted cutting of trees on your property and/or common ground is taken seriously by the board. We do not take pleasure in the processing of any violation or fine in this regard but we have an obligation and responsibility to do so.  To avoid tree cutting violations and fines please contact either the AIA forester or the design review committee (summer or winter) before cutting any live trees over 2” in diameter at the base on your property and do not cut any live tree, regardless of size, on common ground. If you feel a live tree on common ground is a hazard to you or your property, you must discuss the concern with our forester or with design review  (summer or winter) before cutting any common ground tree.

To contact the AIA forester, Bill Conway, please call him at 541-729-6259 (email bbconway@earthlink.net) or Joyce Boulter of AIA design review at 970-862-8449 (email joyce.boulter@gmail.com). If you have difficulty contacting Bill or Joyce please call Agnes at the AIA office, (970) 642-4232 , for assistance.

In closing, let me remind you that per regulation, the fine for the unpermitted cutting of a tree is $1,000.00 per tree. Also, please note that the fine can be doubled or tripled per tree in certain circumstances.

Thank you,

Mike Wigent
