We are spending the summer on our lot at 201 Wildflower. We got some pictures of the bear visiting the firehouse right before the potluck supper Tuesday, July 22nd.
The bear crossed Lake in front of us, he took little effort or time finding whatever he was grubbing out of the ground behind the little shed south of the firehouse.
This picture shows how easily he "disappeared" into the grass but we could still see him. Then he got up and went back across Lake Road into the trees.
Good News: The County applied mag-cloride to the Alpine road, from the highway up to the Arrowhead sign on July 30, 2008. It has helped with the dust.
Shutterbugs Photo Club - Lake City/ American Basin
The group met at the Inn on July 24th and enjoyed the drive, lunch in Lake City and the wonderful sites of American Basin. We took lots of photos, some good, some bad but as always, learned from our mistakes.
Don Koelzow brought his pictures to the next meeting and they were shown on a big screen, with the help of Rich Leary’s lap top.

Arrowhead Snowmobile Club
Arrowhead now has its very own Snowmobile Club...the Arrowhead Snowmobile Club. We are no longer connected with Lake City and we will be responsible for the grooming of the Alpine Plateau Trail. This year's fees and allocations from the state will go toward grooming. We will lease a grooming machine and an operator.
Because we are a new Club, we are starting out with zero funds. Memberships will be extremely important for us to be viable.
Eric Johnson is Club President. Jim Gelsomini is Treasurer. Star Misner is Secretary. Mary Cockes is membership person and Snow Scoop newspaper reporter. Will Hobson is the Grooming Reporter. Lucia Lebon is the Club Website Reporter. It has been a team effort to make this happen. There have been lots of hoops and loops to jump.

The Wildflower Walk took place July 17th, about 10 miles up country on the Alpine.
Linda Dysart led us, sharing great information on the wildflowers. This year produced an abundance of flowers, with beautiful colors. The group enjoyed a sack lunch and a relaxing day in the mountains.
